Yessica Valenzuela, originally born in Chihuahua, Mexico became a U.S. Citizen at age 13. After earning a Degree in Social Work from Arizona State University, she decided she wanted to do something else with her life and career. After hearing stories and experiences about being an appraiser from her husband’s friend, she found herself interested in becoming an appraiser and was sold on the career path after a meeting with him. Yessica began taking courses at the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business in 2019, and after completing her courses faced the difficult task of finding a trainer who was willing to take on an apprentice, until one literally arrived at her doorstep. When refinancing her home, the appraiser assigned to her family was Nita Sloan. Yessica talked to her about the job and the process of becoming an appraiser. She has now been working with Nita at Sloan Appraisal Services for two years and is on the brink of getting her certification. She is excited for her future in appraisals and is hopeful that with Nita’s guidance, she can one day be as successful as Nita!
